I'm trying to get my boys out into nature more, so a couple of weeks ago I took them both on an easy hike on the Conservation trail thru Darien State Park. I took water and snacks and we were on our way!
Jacob found little frogs to say hi to.
About 1-2 miles in is a lean to since this section also is part of the Finger Lakes trail. We stopped here to rest and have our lunch.
At the halfway point for this loop is a creek that is typically about a couple feet deep at least. Well the water levels were unfortunately low (we had anticipated playing in the water to cool off), but Brad was still able to use his water filter to refill his bottle, and Jacob enjoyed wading in the water and chasing crayfish!
Can you spot it?
After cooling down we hit the trail again for the last couple of miles back to our car. I think they had fun!
