This blog was started in 2008 when we did IVF for the first time to build our family after 5 1/2 years of infertility. We now have 14 and 8 year old boys (thanks to modern medicine) and we are enjoying our blessed life as parents ♥ In the summer of 2016 we took another huge step and moved across the country from Oklahoma to New York! This blog is about life and everything in between

Baked Buffalo Hellman's Chicken

This super easy and yum chicken recipe will be a keeper! It's quick and makes the chicken so moist and tender!

4 thin chicken breasts
1/2c Mayo
3tbs hot sauce
1/2 packet ranch seasoning
Pinch salt

Preheat 400°. Lay chicken in baking pan. Sprinkle salt over. Mix remaining ingredients, then spread evenly over breasts. Bake for 30min, remove and drain excess juices. Broil for approx 5min till slightly browned on top.

Yum!! This served perfectly with my recipe for Buffalo pasta here.

North Collins House

Tonight we went and saw this cute house. It was about 50min away in a cute little town.

Built 1865
1488sqft 5bd 2b
0.51 acres
$95,000

It comes with a hot tub in the backyard, and all brand new kitchen appliances. The windows are all new, the roof is recent, the water heater is new, and there is a water softener. The yard has a new stockade fence all around it.

I really liked this one and all it has to offer for the price. It has just about all been updated and looks great for being so old. But once again Nick did not like it..... So the search continues.

Rushford House

Last Friday we took a long drive down to Rushford, NY to see this house. We drove thru some heavy lake effect snow once we got south of Buffalo and the drive there was interesting to say the least. The realtor couldn't even meet us there so we got the key and walked the house by ourselves. I wish I could have gotten better pics of the outside but I couldn't because of the heavy snow.

Built 1870
2800sqft
3.9 acre
4b 2b
$60,720
HUD home

The house had obviously been vacant for awhile and did need some work. The structure seemed very solid, the floors didn't even squeak when we walked around. There was very little light inside because most lightbulbs were gone so we just had the setting sun and our phones.

In summary I liked the house and definitely see the potential...But of course Nick did not like it, so the search continues...

Silver Creek House

I went to see this house today with Jacob. Nick had to stay home because he has been sick. It was huge and full of character. It needed work for sure, but not as much as the house we almost bought before!

$89,000
6bd 4 bath
4,000 sqft
0.7 acre
Multi family
Built 1895

It was set up inside for 3 apartments. The rear of the second floor had a small second staircase that connected right by the kitchen. There was a staircase up to the full attic as well. There were 2 kitchens upstairs, no appliances.

The stairs to the basement were in the second full bathroom downstairs in the rear of the house by the back door.

The garage had also been converted to a small apartment but we did not go inside.

I liked the house a lot and loved the detail and character inside. However the major marks against it are the busy road that it is on, and the train that is a block away. That is just too much road noise for me to deal with for the rest of my life. I did like how close it was to Lake Erie, however the location and house need to be the whole package we are looking for.

The search continues!
