2017
It is finally here! 2016 was such a huge year for my family. In a good way! We've been through so many trials the last few years, and last year was finally one where things turned around and we were able to move forward towards our goals in life.
When we started the year, the only thing we knew for sure was that we would try to sell our house for the third time. We were already preparing for it to not sell and we actually were going to resolve to stay in Oklahoma and come up with a plan B. However, this time would be different! We sold it within a month and the next journey of our life began.
Ever since our arrival in New York, we have had so many positive changes for our family. Nick found a full-time job with great benefits, Bradley has several new friends in our neighborhood and at his school, I met an amazing friend that I've become close to, and I'm about to start a new job that will help advance my career. We love our neighborhood, but our next step in our plan is to find an old Victorian house on some land.
For New Year's Eve, we spent a quiet evening at home with my friend Stephanie here to enjoy it with us. I started the day with a new recipe for a breakfast casserole. It turned out delicious and the family loved it! The rest of the evening we had several different yummy snacks with sparkling juice for the kids, and of course champagne and some hard cider for the adults. We played lots of board games, watched some shows, and stayed up late into the night enjoying each other's company. The perfect way to ring in the New Year!
