This blog was started in 2008 when we did IVF for the first time to build our family after 5 1/2 years of infertility. We now have 17 and 11 year old boys (thanks to modern medicine) and we are enjoying our blessed life as parents ♥ In the summer of 2016 we took another huge step and moved across the country from Oklahoma to New York! This blog is about life and everything in between

Florida Family Fun

Thanks to a good deal on flights, we spent the last weekend on a beach vacation! We flew to Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday and checked into our beach apartment at Casa del Sol for 3 nights.

After getting some Chinese for dinner, we hit up Publix for a few groceries. We got bagels, bananas, and milk/coffee for breakfast, then a couple family size frozen meals for lunch. We had popcorn, snacks and koolaid to keep the boys happy! For dinner we ate out.

Other than that, we spent the days on the beach! It was hot and sunny the whole trip there, which is perfect weather for the beach! We found seashells, jelly fish, and built sandcastles and buried Brad in the sand.

I took my tripod and camera, and managed to get a nice family photo!

First Day of 4th Grade, and an Unexpected Family Visit

September has been a busy month in the Pierce household! On the 5th Bradley happily started 4th grade and couldn't wait to see his friends. We took his yearly pictures and he jumped on the bus with his new backpack and lunchbox. He had a great day! Later this month he starts learning the saxophone, so wish him luck on that.

On Friday the 7th my dad unexpectedly texted me and said he rented a car and was on his way here!! He was taking his time due to bad weather, and ended up arriving late Sunday evening. We set up the guest room for him and made the most of his visit. The boys were happy to see their Papa Tony for the first time in 2yrs!!

I had to get a pic of them in the morning--plaid man #1 and #2!

It was great to have him here and be able to show him our house and little town. Our fridge malfunctioned that weekend, so we ended up getting a new one delivered from Sears that following Monday. I also bought a new dining table set that is supposed to be here this week!

We just got back from a weekend family getaway to the beach in Ft. Lauderdale FL, so my next post will be those pictures!

2018 Niagara County Fair and a Cemetery Tour

Last Sunday was a hot summer day, so Nick decided to take the top off his Blazer for us to ride to the fair in! I packed an ice chest with cold drinks and we were on our way. This is our 3rd year going to that fair and we (and the boys!) love it. It's just the right size, not too crowded, and decently priced.

We were super grateful to get a parking spot right under a shady tree! We grabbed some lunch first, then checked out the classic car show.

After that we got the boys a bunch of tickets and let them ride all they could! Jacob was too short to get on the Ferris wheel, so we had to skip that one this year.

After cooling off and resting for a bit at home, we joined up with a historical tour of the large Mt Albion Cemetery here in town. There are 4 tours this month, and each one covers a different part of the grounds. This one covered the oldest part on the east side, dating back to the early 1800s. It's a very scenic place with over 20,000 buried there!
