This blog was started in 2008 when we did IVF for the first time to build our family after 5 1/2 years of infertility. We now have 14 and 8 year old boys (thanks to modern medicine) and we are enjoying our blessed life as parents ♥ In the summer of 2016 we took another huge step and moved across the country from Oklahoma to New York! This blog is about life and everything in between

Mothers!

There is nothing better than having family stay for a visit!! Last Saturday our mothers flew here together from OKC and stayed 4 days with us. My mom hadn't flown in 9yrs, and Nick's mom hadn't flown in almost 30!! This was a big accomplishment to say the least.

This was my mom's FIRST time to NY since her childhood, and first time to see our lovely home! I was so excited to finally be able to show her our quaint town and all the updates we've been doing to the house. The boys hadn't seen their grandma Nonni in over 2yrs so they were happy too!

We all had a great time enjoying food, coffee, and games. Lots of chat and catching up. We took them both to see our new favorite Amish market (where we HAD to get a picture with the huge cabbage!!) and later I took Mom up to Lake Ontario for a scenic view.

On Sunday afternoon my friend Stephanie came over to join us for chat, coffee, and dinner! We had fun playing games with the girls.

Monday was a holiday so we all went to our favorite orchard to pick apples! It was hot and I think everyone else was there as well so the lines were long! We got tons of delicious Empire apples and cider to take home. We love our yearly traditions.

After apple picking, we all went to a little diner in Medina and had a nice lunch together.

We all had a great time with beautiful weather, and I hope the mothers enjoyed their stay here! We can't wait for their next visit.
