This is a big year for BOTH boys! Jacob is now in 5th grade and enjoying his last year in elementary school. And Bradley....well I brag on him a lot because he has surpassed our hopes and dreams and is growing into such an intelligent young man. He has begun what is technically his senior year (11th grade but graduating early) as well as finishing up his last 2 classes for his Associates Degree! He is #1 in his junior class and #5 in his senior class, and will be graduating with a Regents diploma. We have been full steam ahead for his college preparations as he wants to continue on at a university for his Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering. He has decided to apply to #1 MIT, and #2 RIT. MIT only has about a 4% acceptance rate so I have no idea how that will go, but we will find out in December! If he gets in there, he will get a full ride scholarship for all 4 years. Say a prayer for him!
In his English 4 class they took a field trip last week to visit 2 college campuses around the area. That was his first time actually being on a university campus and seeing how they look.
Saturday I took him to join an Open House tour of the RIT campus in Rochester. It was an all day planned event where we heard from faculty, students, and got to speak 1:1 with the director of the Computer Science and Engineering department. It seems like a great program with so many resources for the kids to learn and socialize. If he ends up going here, he would most likely join the Honors Program and live in the Computer Science dorm house.
Last but not least we have class pictures! Bradley had nice senior pictures done and look at this young man!! We just ordered his cap and gown as well.
My other sweet boy is looking more grown every day, here is Jacob for his 5th grade photo!
