Hiking NY: Warsaw Waterfall Creek Walk

This is a fun one for a hot day! I took the boys here last week to cool off and they had a blast. You walk the whole way in the water upstream and you stop when you hit the waterfall!

This one starts at the Warsaw Village Park. In the back of the park is the "sledding hill" which leads you up the creek. You can either take the trail next the creek which will lead you up to the top of the falls (no access to creek from there), or you can take a windy side trail down to the creek and walk in the water.

We put our water shoes on and the boys splashed ahead as I made my way behind them. Mostly it's very shallow with just a few deeper spots along the way up. The deepest spot that we came across was maybe 3-4ft and they are all pretty small being surrounded by rocks. Don't slip and fall!

It's maybe a mile or less walking until the waterfall--you can't miss it! It's a large cliff with water cascading down. The depth at the bottom is only a few inches! You can cool off under the falls, or splash around in the deeper parts.

My boys figured out how to slide down the slippery rocks. They had fun doing that for awhile.

After we got cooled off, we turned around and made our way back. Watch carefully for where you entered the creek so you don't miss the trail to get back to your car!

If you want to know exactly what trail to take to get to the creek, here's the link for AllTrails.
