Back to School!!

The Pierce boys have finally gone back to school! Yesterday was their first day back and they are very excited to see their friends again.

Jacob got to meet his teacher first and see his classroom. They didn't get to do this last year, so it was nice to get a preview. It eases the nerves! Jacob's teacher for 1st grade is Mrs. Uderitz.

Bradley had open house the night before school started, and got his schedule. His homeroom teacher (and science teacher) is Mr. Petrus.

He has 8 classes a day (!) and was assigned a locker. We had trouble getting it open.....so that's something he has to work on it. It's #2027 which coincidentally is the year he graduates! We walked around and found all his classrooms and met his teachers. Some he knew from last year, and he saw several familiar faces as well.

Wednesday was the big day! Of course it was pouring the rain...So we did pictures on the porch. We got the annual shirt and sign pictures, then it was off to the bus! Both boys get picked up right in front of the house which is so awesome! Especially in the winter.

Bradley's bus comes around 7:20am so he's the first one to leave. After we get the timing pinned down for the bus, he'll be responsible for waking up and getting himself off to school all by himself!

Can you believe he's a 7th grader already!?

Jacob was next!! He loves school and was so excited to head out. Yes it was still raining! His bus usually comes around 8:35am, but it has been pretty late these first couple of days...

It's always a breath of relief once the boys get on the bus and start their day. We sat on our porch for a bit to watch them go, then we enjoyed our coffee in a quiet house!!

Bradley signed up for Cross Country this year, so he's already been doing practice for a couple weeks. This is the first sport he's ever done, and he's not a big fan of it but we are encouraging him to finish the season and give it his best! It only goes thru Oct so it's not much longer. He actually just got diagnosed with exercise-induced asthma and had to get an inhaler again unfortunately. He had asthma when he was younger from allergies, but it's been resolved for a few years now since we moved north. I guess the increased activity exacerbated the issue again.

Check back for more Pierce family updates!!
