Independence Day 2017

Last night we went up to Olcott for their firework display over Lake Ontario. We love the park there, and knew the kids would have a fun time running around. The scenery was beautiful. I packed us a picnic and we ate on a blanket in the park looking over the water.

Just next to the park is a carousel park with several restored vintage kiddie rides that are only a quarter each. Jacob actually rode several by himself! I couldn't believe he actually sat there enjoying it.

After the rides, we found a prime spot to see the fireworks and parked ourselves there for a couple of hours until the show started. It was a little challenging keeping the kids entertained and away from other people, but we managed and they loved the fireworks. From our spot we got to watch the sunset over the lake.

It was a great show, and the weather was perfect!!! This may be our new tradition ever year. Today we just took it easy and had another picnic in our backyard. Maybe we'll see some fireworks from our backyard.
