Today I am 9 weeks along! I love watching how the little floating baby in my widget changes with each week. Me, hubby, and Emmers are all doing great. Since she pretty much looks like a real baby now, instead of posting pics of the "in-utero" image, I'm going to post pics of how big she's supposed to be!
This week she is supposed to be about the size of a large grape. I don't really think I have a belly yet, just mostly bloated! Here is her growth update:
Your new resident is nearly an inch long —about the size of a grape— and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.
Wow! So I have read that you should be able to start hearing the heartbeat with a Doppler between 9 and 10 weeks....so all this weekend at work when I had a few minutes, I would sneak into the bathroom with our little Doppler and try and try to find a heartbeat. Well I found my own, but not hers. So tonight hubby and I are going to the store to get one because I want to know the exact DAY that I will first hear her heartbeat at home! I'll keep you posted.

I still love you deary, I'm so happy that little emmers is trucking right along. You are so damn lucky, and I love baby emmers!!
