2018 Niagara County Fair and a Cemetery Tour

Last Sunday was a hot summer day, so Nick decided to take the top off his Blazer for us to ride to the fair in! I packed an ice chest with cold drinks and we were on our way. This is our 3rd year going to that fair and we (and the boys!) love it. It's just the right size, not too crowded, and decently priced.

We were super grateful to get a parking spot right under a shady tree! We grabbed some lunch first, then checked out the classic car show.

After that we got the boys a bunch of tickets and let them ride all they could! Jacob was too short to get on the Ferris wheel, so we had to skip that one this year.

After cooling off and resting for a bit at home, we joined up with a historical tour of the large Mt Albion Cemetery here in town. There are 4 tours this month, and each one covers a different part of the grounds. This one covered the oldest part on the east side, dating back to the early 1800s. It's a very scenic place with over 20,000 buried there!

Family Camping Trip

Last week I had several days off in a row, so we snuck away and were finally able to try out our new tent! We stayed at the Hamlin Beach State Park just west of Rochester. It's on the coast of Lake Ontario and has a beautiful Sandy Beach there.

The campsite was nice, the weather was perfect, and tent went up surprisingly easy. Plus we had electricity!

We spent the second day exploring and enjoying the beach. The boys had fun climbing on the rocks and looking for seashells, and even though the water was a chilly 65° Bradley still got in and swam! Jacob was happy to play in the sand and build mountains.

We were supposed to stay a second night....but Jacob had other plans to keep us up all night so he could play. We decided to enjoy the day there and pack up after dinner. Everybody came home and took a nap! I think next time it will just be me and Brad...
